Today you are thirty plus forty,
And, hence, as flirty and naughty,
As you were of either age,
When, as we recall, you were a rage.
Here is wishing you’ll stay this way,
And have a very exciting day.
You’re the best of role models,
Looking dashing in your black goggles.
As young and smart as years ago,
Around your head we can see a halo.
Of your being a leader we’re proud,
Each one of us is on a numbered cloud.
In NFMC first as Secretary and now as President,
Quiet dignity and devotion you lent.
With you, we’re better informed here,
Than when we were in active service there.
You made the most difficult task look easy,
To help those in need, you’re never too busy.
Your achievements are many and more,
No one can keep a complete score.
However, foreign cruises are a highlight,
To see veterans having fun was delightful sight.
With the Veterans Parade on the Marine Drive,
Most were seen doing doing high – five.
You set for NFMC a very lofty goal,
That in all events veterans would play a role.
And yet there was time for music and plays,
Talks and presentations in various ways.
You even thought of keeping interest alive,
When, with COVID, activities would have taken nose-dive.
In short, you have led from the front,
With elan and not as a publicity stunt.
On your birthday, hence, we salute,
Each virtue you possess and each attribute.
To have you as a friend we are blessed,
With your dedication, we’re most impressed.
That brings us to Sunita, Monica and Litika,
Mrs Universe, Miss Earth and Miss Pacifica.
They’ve stood by you like towers,
At every feat of yours showering flowers.
Birthdays are to be with friends and family,
Who share your joys most gleefully.
Here is then wishing the best ever birthday,
Whence a mouthful I had a say.
But, you deserve this and more,
Since what you are we simply adore.
