When we ask God for more….
Good morning friends,
Whenever we ask God for more and more,
We never never try to keep a score;
That we haven’t used what He gave,
At our birth in a single wave,
And it kept lying idly in our store.
We, on the average, use just five percent,
Of the faculties that to us God had sent;
We lay waste our powers,
And deny what is ours,
And never try to gauge their full extent.
The past knowledge of the world holds us back,
We are afraid to be labelled as maniac*,
If we want to go beyond the mould,
Or explore beyond what we were told,
So the courage to break these bonds we lack.
We should be inspired by those who try,
To make it possible for them to fly;
The world gains by their resolve,
Whilst a new way they evolve,
And peg their aims really very high.
….we should consider what He gave and is lying wasted.

I have done a long stint in the Indian Navy that lasted for nearly thirty seven years; I rose as far as my somewhat rebellious and irreverent nature allowed me to. On retirement, in Feb 2010, the first thing that occurred to me, and those around me, was that I Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (you will find an article with this title in this blog) and hadn't lost all my noodles and hence thought of a blog titled 'This 'n That'. I later realised that every third blog is called 'This 'n That' and changed the name to 'Sunbyanyname'. I detest treading the beaten track. This blog offers me to air 'another way' of looking at things. The idea is not just to entertain but also to bring about a change. Should you feel differently, you are free to leave your comments. You can leave comments even when you agree and want to share your own experience about the topic of the blog post. Impudent or otherwise, I have never been insousciant and I am always concerned about the betterment of community, nation and the world. I hope the visitors of this blog would be able to discern it.

Man gets and forgets

A satisfied life is better than a successful life
because our success is measured by others
but our satisfaction is measured by our own soul mind and heart.
.
We all want to be successful and that is where the destination itself gets flawed and therefore the journey Heading the wrong way.
In the capital and consumerism driven World, the #measure of success is #Money
And therefore the life is misdirected towards competitiveness right from a toddler to secure admission in a good School and College,
towards a high paying job or profitable business…
.
The life becomes mechanical, Eternal Peace, the main objective of human form eludes, as it becomes dormant under the pressure to tons of money.
.
Saint Kabir Saheb has described it in few couplets,
When the Baby is in mother’s womb, surrounded by body refuge and hanging upside down, the Baby requests the Supreme Lord to get him/ her out and he/she will not commit any crime to be landing this punishment (which is more severe than the hell),
.
But as the Baby, exits The God reminds the Baby about his/her promise and assures HE will be watching over,
AND
At the same time, the Satan Whisper Into The Other Ear of the Baby,
I have not seen anybody more beautiful and intelligent
.
The baby remembers words of Satan the whole life, but forgets the promise to the Supreme Lord.
.
If I am not in a hurry to attain eternal peace, the god is definitely not in a hurry although HE does present situations in the life which would redirect a person to the right track,
But beyond that it is the individuals wisdom,
.
And this is where the five big ailments hold a person…
Ego
.
.
And so the supreme creation of the Supreme Lord wastes the faculties towards achieving the irrelevant,
Keeping his back towards the real objective and fulfillment,
merging with the Supreme Lord and attaining the Eternal Peace.
Very pragmatic and thought provoking comments Rakesh. I hope people make it a habit to read your comments together with my poems.
