Third day of saying thanks….
From the first of June, 2018, I started writing Good Morning messages in the form of poems (Please read: ‘Good Morning Message #1‘).
The last such message was:’Good Morning Message #184‘.
Good morning Friends,
I started saying thanks two days ago,
As we near the end of the current year;
To all the people who helped me grow,
And who brought to my life some cheer.
Today I salute those who services run,
And don’t sleep until their job is done.
The first are, of course, are defence personnel,
Without whom none of the others can perform;
The nation’s security, they keep it really well,
Let’s all thank all the men and women in uniform.
Their sacrifices are often easily forgotten,
Because increasingly our system is getting rotten.

Next are those who provide us with food,
Farmers, fishermen, cowherds and their ilk;
If it hadn’t been for their toil and fortitude,
No meals for us, no drinks, not even milk.
I salute all of them for keeping me alive,
And giving me life’s very basic drive.
Doctors, scientists, constructors, engineers,
Pilots, drivers, labourers, servants and guards;
I have a long list of those charged and volunteers,
You are all worthy of my highest regards,
For, if it hadn’t been for you all,
I would’ve been up against the wall.
It is really our habit to crib and complain,
As opposed to being content and grateful;
But, these people’s services would be in vain,
If not even for a day we are to them faithful.
Yes, being cynical is in our nature,
But, being thankful increases our stature.
…..today is for those who we so often neglect to give thanks to.
