How many languages do we require?
From the first of June, 2018, I started writing Good Morning messages in the form of poems (Please read: ‘Good Morning Message #1‘).
The last such message was: ‘Good Morning Message #156‘.
Good morning Friends,
How did people actually communicate,
When no languages had been evolved?
Were signs and gestures considered adequate,
Or mutual problems were left unresolved?
When did humanity learn how to express,
Emotions through words, written or spoken?
We think, through language, we now possess,
That important link that was, in the past, broken.
Did silence have the same meaning then,
As it has now when many languages we speak?
When did we know there’s power in the pen,
When did people learn to try tongue in cheek?
Did we just make simple things more complex,
By surrounding ourselves with words and phrases?
Is advanced knowledge meant only to perplex,
Does God too talk to us in a tongue that amazes?
Seriously, do we at least know where we’re going,
With such modern means of communication?
Is understanding between people really growing,
Or, despite languages, we still have frustration?
Can we overcome barriers of dialect and tongue,
And evolve a common language of heart to heart?
Will a universal anthem of people remain unsung,
In which everyone can understandably take part?
Some things like Love and Kindness were always beyond words.
