There are so many things in life you can’t keep….
From the first of June, 2018, I started writing Good Morning messages in the form of poems (Please read: ‘Good Morning Message #1‘).
The last such message was: ‘Good Morning Message #145‘.
Good morning Friends,
There are many things in life we can’t store or keep,
One of them is what we use every night: sleep.
We should keep it in mind,
This lesson that is well defined,
It is actually profound, thought-provoking and deep.
Life is not meant to be used at some later day,
It is meant to be used at this moment and today.
It doesn’t gather interest,
Just because you give it rest,
Like money in a bank to be withdrawn after time delay.
It is in the nature of the Man to be possessive,
Thinking of permanence of Life becomes obsessive;
But like the example of sleep,
Which you can’t store or keep,
To the idea of transience of things he should be submissive.
Another relevant example is that of Lily of a Day,
That, as the poet reminded us, is fairer far in May;
It doesn’t dream of living forever,
Or to wilt and die never,
But it spreads beauty during its very short stay.
We should, therefore, enjoy things here and now,
And not store and prolong their life somehow,
Life itself is passing,
Which is really a blessing,
So that everything doesn’t become sweat of the brow.
…..so, enjoy them whilst they last.
